Program

We offer programs for children ranging from 6 weeks to 12 years old. Planet Child Care implements the Creative Curriculum which is recognized by the state of Missouri. Our curriculum is designed knowing that each child is a unique individual that develops at his/her own pace.

Infants

Our infant area provides the highest quality care in an environment that is designed with the parent and child in mind.

While in our care, the children are stimulated through music, exercise, outdoor blanket time, facial and verbal mimicking as well as lots of hugs and tickles. Each child will have a written "daily” documenting nutrition, nap times, diapering and any additional information from the caregiver.

Toddlers

At this age, children are meeting new challenges as fast as they come. Crawling, walking and eventually running are levels they accomplish in what seems like a blink of an eye. Children learn best if they are in a stimulating environment. Music, stories, outdoor play, and learning simplicities envelop much of the day. Our caregivers are dedicated in helping each child develop these skills through a trusting and loving relationship. A parental daily report is given to update each family on meal times, nap times, toilet training and all activities accomplished each day.

Our Two’s and Young Preschool Program

Routines such as diapering, toileting, eating and napping are important to the learning process as young children develop self-regulating skills. For this reason, the caregiver places an emphasis on conversation and meaningful interaction during these times. The role of the teacher is to support the child in his/her attempt at self-regulation and extend activities along logical and creative lines. Learning activities are planned weekly, with a balance of teacher to child directed activities with focus on the development of the whole child. A parental daily report is given to updated each family on meal times, nap times, toilet training and all activities accomplished each day.

Preschool

A good preschool can make a difference in a child's future school years. Planet Child Care offers individual programs for children to help them learn in an environment that is stress free and fun. The three, four and five year old preschool classes follow principles for a quality and developmentally appropriate curriculum. The preschool program currently uses the Creative Curriculum. The most important goal of our early childhood program is to help children become enthusiastic learners. Our goals include helping children become independent, self-confident and inquisitive learners.

Our curriculum identifies goals in all areas of development:

Emotional: To help children experience pride and self-confidence, develop independence, self control and have a positive attitude toward life.

Cognitive: To help children become confident learners by letting them try their own ideas, experience success, help them acquire learning skills such as the ability to solve problems, ask questions, and use words to describe their ideas, observations and feelings.

Physical: To help children increase their large and small muscle skills and feel confident in what their bodies can do.

*The activities we plan for all children, the way we organize the environment, select toys, and materials, plan the daily schedule, and talk with the children are all designed to accomplish the goals of our curriculum and give your child a successful start to school.

School-Age

As children get older and more independent, they need new challenges. That’s why we offer a school-age program for before and after school care and enrichment programs that address the changing and more varied needs of growing school-age children. Reading, math, and science activities ensure that your child's mind is engaged and help create a lifelong love of learning and exploration.

School-Age Transportation

Planet Child Care offers before and/or after school transportation to area schools.

Summer Camp

School-Age summer camp is offered each summer. We provide a variety of fun and educational field trips for the schoolage child. An additional fee does apply.
